TEDx Real - A Global Collaboration, led by Substance Studio

For TEDxSydney 2020, we collaborated with the group of the world's best motion and sound studios united by Substance studio in a global collaboration to illustrate the theme of “REAL”. After all, TEDx is about “ideas worth spreading”, and with reality so open to interpretation, a curated collaboration was perfectly suited to capturing the kaleidoscopic nature of the theme.

TEDxSYD × POST OFFICE × WETIME: CONNECT

Technology has vastly contributed in connecting people to each other across the globe. As technology advances further, the process becomes even more seamless. It is as if a person can literally travel through space and connect to others ignoring the physical distance between them, making it their reality for the moment.

The film is a colourful, vibrant, action packed sequence that shows our protagonist travel through different “dimensions” making connections and finally reaching a place where he intents to share and gain knowledge. These “dimensions” are metaphorically the places where the protagonist can go because of how communication has shrink down the whole world.

The film has different art styles to show the contrast of these “dimensions”, and a lot of fast camera movements to keep the tempo of the film high.
